REVISED ZOOM 341 PROCEDURES FOR TRUSTEE TERRY ASSIGNED CASES

The United States Trustee has initiated a new process for conducting 341 Meeting of Creditors. The Eastern District of Michigan is scheduled to use this new Zoom process starting Tuesday, October 10th to cases where the trustee is Tammy L. Terry.   Here are a few things to note about the process:

Starting on October 10, 2023, and thereafter, there is a SINGLE Zoom Meeting ID and Passcode.  We will use Breakout Rooms to separate participants into hearing meetings.

  • The Court sent the 341 Notices on newer cases indicating our Zoom call-in information and can be found at https://www.justice.gov/ust/moc. However, older cases may indicate “see Trustee’s website” on the 341 Notices for Zoom information.  All cases beginning October 10th will be handled the same way with this new process.
  • The Zoom link is also available at our website, det13.net/dockets.

The new Zoom Process is different.

  • There are no longer dedicated Zoom links, Meeting ID, and passcodes for each room.
  • Everyone joins with the SAME Zoom Meeting ID and Passcode.
  • Joining the meeting with the Meeting ID and Passcode will take you to a “Waiting Room” until you are admitted into the Main Session.
  • All participants will enter the Main Session with audio muted and video off.
  • From there everyone MUST join their assigned Breakout Rooms: Room 1, Room 2, or Room 3.

We will continue to Post our 341 Room Assignments to our website and to the DET-BK email list no later than the Friday before the date of the 341 hearing.

  • You must share this room information with your clients in advance of the 341.
  • Please practice with your clients before the 341 hearings stressing the importance of using the Breakout Rooms icon to join their assigned room.
  • Your Name for the Zoom Meeting is Needed:
    • Please instruct your clients to enter their “name,” as it is shown on the Petition when they launch the Zoom meeting; otherwise, we would have to figure out who “Mom’s iPhone” or “iPhone 14” belongs too.
    • We also ask that debtor attorneys put their names in the Name field of Zoom to assist with identification.
    • Creditors: Please add “creditor” to your Zoom name if there is room.

There is a new Requirement to Submit Proof of the Debtor’s Social Security Number and Government issued photo ID 14 days in advance of the 341 hearing date.

  • Please upload the “identification” documents as a single PDF document on a single page; even for a jointly filed case.
  • Upload the “identification” documents atus using the “341 Proof of ID” document form type.
  • The Declaration Form regarding Confirmation of Identity and Social Security Number is NO longer required.
    • Our office is required to verify the debtor’s identity with their government issued photo ID and the person on the Zoom call. Please make sure the copy of the photo ID clearly shows their face; illegible copies of photo ID will result in adjournments.
    • Make sure that your clients are clearly visible on camera during the duration of their meeting.
