Controller (Management)
The Office of the Tammy L. Terry, Standing
Chapter 13 Trustee at Detroit, Michigan is seeking a full-time Controller.
Coordinator of Financial
transactions. Directs and coordinates activities of employees engaged in
financial operations by monitoring and personally performing duties with or
through staff, including, but not limited to:
Duties:

Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies
and procedures.
·
Establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
·
Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing
information to external auditors.
·
Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and
consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
·
Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances;
initiating corrective actions.
·
Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and
reporting financial data.
·
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information
and trends.
·
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing
and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to
requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
·
Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining
employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
·
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational
workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks.
·
Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
·
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
Managing Processes, Financial Software, high proficiency for excel and proven
experience with importing and exporting data to excel spreadsheets and managing
information and statistical information. Developing Standards, Audit,
Accounting, Corporate Finance, Tracking Budget Expenses, Financial Skills,
Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Performance Management, Three to five
years’ experience, knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP),
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or management, auditing experience preferred,
CPA REQUIRED.

Case Analyst (Employee)
The Office of the Tammy L. Terry, Standing
Chapter 13 Trustee at Detroit, Michigan is seeking a full-time Paralegal.
The Case Analyst position is a high level position that requires a very ORGANIZED individual who is a quick learner that adapts to well in a legal and financial environment that is subject to constant change, who has excellent writing skills, high comprehension, ability to work well with people, can work in fast paced environment with short deadlines. The ability to work as an instrumental team member within a team, is assertive and has the ability to work well with numbers to process financial calculations and interpret the outcome verbally and/or in writing in a concise manner. Individual will be required to attend court hearings, work directly with constituents outside the organization, participate in projects or events as assigned. Ability to use various computer software programs a plus, Financial and/or legal experience preferred. Only those with experience need apply, detailed background check is required.
The ideal candidate must have
the ability to manage a high volume of cases, have initiative, be a quick
learner, be adaptable to change, be self-disciplined, have the ability to work
independently and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Applicant must have strong organization skills,
be dependable, task oriented, have the ability to multi-task, have strong
mathematical ability, be team oriented and meet deadlines.
Requirements: Must have
legal or financial employment experience with a minimum of two years’
experience. Computer and calculator experience a must. College degree preferred
and bankruptcy experience a plus. Testing and background check will be required.
